Maple Finance is an institutional crypto credit market where companies can take out loans directly on the blockchain. The Maple Finance price reflects the value of the SYRUP token — formerly known as Maple (MPL). Maple Finance is a decentralized B2B credit marketplace. The associated token SYRUP evolved from its predecessor Maple (MPL) and has served as the central governance asset of the ecosystem since November 2024.
The development of the Maple Finance price depends, among other things, on the growth of managed loan volume (Total Value Locked), as well as ecosystem upgrades and regulatory developments.
The maximum total supply is capped at 1.24 billion tokens. With a market valuation of around 190 million EUR, SYRUP ranks among the 150 most valuable cryptocurrencies and the more established DeFi infrastructure projects.
The Maple Finance price reached its all-time high on 25 June 2025 at around 0.57 EUR, while the all-time low dates from April 2025 at approximately 0.074 EUR.

The Maple Finance price is based on the fundamental concept of crypto supply and demand. However, the specific tokenomics of SYRUP tie the token deeply into institutional B2B lending separate from retail-driven speculation:

Hard cap: There are a maximum of 1.24 billion SYRUP tokens. This fixed ceiling protects against inflation and supports the Maple Finance price.
Buybacks: A portion of protocol revenue is used to buy back SYRUP on the open market. This links the token’s value to the economic success of the protocol.
Governance utility: SYRUP serves as the primary governance asset for the Maple DAO. Decisions within the ecosystem require tokens, which generates organic demand.

What influences the Maple Finance price?

Since Maple Finance operates as a pure B2B credit marketplace, the SYRUP price responds to very different factors than classic altcoins or meme coins:

Institutional loan volume (TVL): The capital locked in lending pools is the most important indicator. Historically back when the token was still listed as MPL — the Maple Finance price experienced a significant decline during the crypto winter of 2022/2023, when TVL collapsed to below 50 million USD following loan defaults.
Creditworthiness: The more well-known companies use Maple Finance as a lender, the more positive the effect on the SYRUP price — and vice versa. When borrower Orthogonal Trading became insolvent in December 2022, for example, the resulting default led to an immediate loss of confidence and a drop of over 20 percent in the Maple Finance price within a single day.
Ecosystem upgrades: Fundamental changes to the ecosystem — such as the migration from MPL to SYRUP in late 2024 — also affect the price. Regulatory compliance: Since Maple targets institutional clients, the SYRUP price responds sensitively to crypto legislation. The Maple Finance price also moves in direct correlation with traditional financial markets. Since the protocol generates yields on stablecoins like USDC, it competes directly with government bonds. June 2026: Current SYRUP price
After further gains at the start of the year, the Maple Finance price fell back into the 0.15 to 0.20 EUR range from February 2026 amid a weak broader market. In mid-May, another downward move followed, with yearly lows of around 0.11 EUR in June 2026.
2025: All-time high followed by market correction
In the first half of 2025, the SYRUP price mostly fluctuated between 0.10 and 0.15 EUR, with an all-time low of 0.074 EUR in early April. From this low point, however, momentum picked up thanks to new partnerships in the fintech sector. On 25 June 2025, the price reached its all-time high — still valid today — at around 0.57 EUR, representing a gain of roughly 670% in just a few weeks.
After this peak, stronger profit-taking set in over the summer, affecting the entire DeFi lending sector. By late autumn, SYRUP had corrected sharply to 0.22 EUR, but moved back toward 0.30 EUR by year-end — closing the year with approximately 100% in gains.
Late 2024: Launch and initial price discovery for SYRUP
The first SYRUP price was recorded on 13 November 2024, when the predecessor token Maple (MPL) migrated to SYRUP at a 1:100 ratio. The initial phase was positive, with the Maple Finance price starting in a range of 0.15 to 0.18 EUR — though a downtrend began immediately after the migration that would continue into 2025.

Current developments: Maple Finance price outlook

The outlook for the Maple Finance price depends on institutional adoption of the RWA sector. If loan volume — currently at around 3.95 billion EUR in AUM (Assets Under Management) as of July 2026 — continues to grow, this could have a positive effect on the SYRUP price. The successful integration of yield tokens like syrupUSDC into major DeFi markets is also a factor.
On the other hand, credit risk remains a potential headwind. Loan defaults by major market participants could lead to sudden losses in both confidence and price at any time. Competition from rival credit marketplaces like Clearpool is also intensifying.
