Understand the Gnosis (GNO) Euro Price

The Gnosis price (GNO) reflects the performance of the native governance and utility token within the Gnosis ecosystem. The project includes the Gnosis Chain, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain, the multisig tool Gnosis Safe (now known as Safe), and decentralized trading platforms such as CowSwap. This article explores how the GNO token has performed since its launch in 2018, which factors have influenced its price, and what the outlook for the coming years might be.

Key facts about the Gnosis price

  • Gnosis is one of the pioneering projects within the Ethereum ecosystem, focusing on decentralized infrastructure, secure open-source wallets, and prediction markets.
  • The GNO token serves as the governance asset for GnosisDAO, secures the Gnosis Chain through staking, and is used for voting, funding ecosystem projects such as SafeDAO, distributing rewards, and managing the treasury.
  • The maximum supply of GNO is three million tokens, with approximately 2.63 million currently in circulation. A sizable portion is controlled by GnosisDAO and used for grants, partner projects, or buybacks. Market capitalization stands at roughly EUR 270 million, placing GNO at rank 137 among all cryptocurrencies.
  • GNO reached its all-time high in November 2021 at approximately EUR 508, while its all-time low dates to March 2020 at EUR 8.50. As of November 2025, GNO is trading at around EUR 100.
  • GNO price development in the medium-term will largely depend on new applications launched on the Gnosis Chain and the success of ecosystem projects such as Safe, CowSwap, and deeper DeFi integration. Partnerships and GnosisDAO initiatives remain key drivers of price momentum.

How is the Gnosis price calculated?

The GNO price is determined by supply and demand on cryptocurrency exchanges, with price determination influenced by the maximum token supply, treasury strategies, and developments within the ecosystem:

  • Limited supply: With a maximum of three million GNO tokens, supply is structurally constrained. If demand increases, this limitation could theoretically support positive price development of GNO.
  • Staking and validation: GNO is used for staking on the Gnosis Beacon Chain. Users receive rewards for providing GNO as validators.
  • Treasury management: GnosisDAO controls roughly half of all GNO tokens and actively uses them for funding, project support, and market interventions such as buybacks.

What influences Gnosis price?

The price of GNO is shaped by various factors within the network as well as external market conditions. Here is an overview of the key drivers:

  • Ecosystem dynamics: Rising capital locked in applications on the Gnosis Chain (including DeFi, bridges, and DAOs) typically increases interest in GNO.
  • Ecosystem projects: New initiatives such as SafeDAO or partnerships with protocols such as CowSwap, Balancer, or decentralization campaigns strengthen adoption. The best example is the launch of SafeDAO in 2023, which led to increased momentum in the Gnosis price.
  • Technological upgrades: Improvements in scaling, decentralization or interoperability often act as catalysts. The introduction of zkEVM capabilities or new bridges to other chains have historically been drivers of price performance.
  • DAO decisions: Strategic voting decisions, for example buybacks, treasury rebalancing or large grants, can trigger short-term price movements.
  • Macro and regulatory environment: Market dynamics, bull or bear markets, and regulatory trends in DeFi similarly affect GNO price.

The market positioning of Gnosis relative to other Ethereum-compatible smart contract chains, such as Polygon and Avalanche, is also a key factor for GNO price. Key announcements from these projects also influence price dynamics.

Price history: Key events in GNO price development

  1. October 2025: Current Gnosis price
In November 2025, GNO is trading around 100 EUR. After a quiet summer, announcements about GnosisDAO treasury buybacks and new DeFi app integrations drove a modest uptick compared to previous months.
  2. 2024: New bridges and SafeDAO breakthrough
2024 was marked by technical expansion. The introduction of zkBridge integration and the launch of DAO initiatives, including major grants for Web3 gaming on the Gnosis Chain, drove an early-year recovery with prices climbing above EUR 400. These developments were followed by a weak summer, with levels around EUR 130, before GNO regained ground toward year-end.
  3. 2023: TVL decline and decentralization focus
During the crypto winter of 2023, capital outflows and lower user activity kept GNO price fluctuating around EUR 100. The DAO’s focus on decentralization and strengthening the treasury, including the launch of liquid staking, temporarily halted the decline. From October onward, the price recovered and climbed to EUR 225.
  4. 2022: DeFi hype and sharp correction
The DeFi boom, increasing numbers of users and the popularity of Gnosis Safe fueled the rally early in the year. This was followed by a sharp sell-off, driven by the Terra/LUNA and FTX collapses, sending the price back to around EUR 100 by year-end.
  5. 2021: All-time high due to DeFi surge
2021 was a year marked by remarkable success, with an all-time high of around EUR 508 reached in November. The launch of Gnosis Safe as the de facto multisig standard and the rise of DAO projects drove a steep rally from roughly EUR 80 at the start of the year to EUR 508 in the fall. Overall, 2021 solidified the position of Gnosis as part of the Ethereum infrastructure.
  6. 2018 to 2020: Prolonged sideways phase
The three years between 2018 and 2020 were challenging for GNO. After a brief hype at the start of 2018, with a peak above EUR 300, the price entered a prolonged sell-off. By March 2020, GNO had fallen 97 percent to below EUR 8.50, marking the all-time low that remains in place today. From there, the coin staged a recovery to over EUR 60 by year-end but failed to return to the launch-year levels above EUR 300.
  7. 2017: Launch and initial peak
Following its launch in May 2017, GNO quickly gained momentum, posting nearly 500 percent growth by July with a peak close to EUR 300. A sharp yet orderly correction then brought prices back to just under EUR 50, before GNO closed its first year with a strong recovery above EUR 150.

Current developments: Forecasting Gnosis price

The medium-term performance of GNO largely depends on continued adoption of the Gnosis Chain and its integration by DAO and DeFi projects. New scalability upgrades, integration into multichain platforms and initiatives by GnosisDAO could further strengthen the ecosystem.

The number of major partner projects, such as SafeDAO or CowSwap, along with the ability to advance innovation in governance and smart contract utilization, remain key drivers for price performance.
